When The Batman came out in 2022, it was the dawn of a whole new universe thanks to Matt Reeves. We all know that Robert Pattinson's Batman will have three feature films, making it the second Batman trilogy ever created. However, another character from the world of Batman has recently taken center stage. The Penguin is currently one of the biggest shows streaming on OTT and for all the right reasons, it deserves the praise it receives. If you've been following the series, you already know that a lot has happened since the first episode aired and now the big question is, even after so much happening in Gotham, where is Batman? With what we have witnessed in recent episodes, there is a good chance that Batman will appear in the finale of The Penguin and I have 3 reasons why I believe this is happening.
1. The Falcone family and the death of Sal Maroni
Penguin's story brought massive elements that influenced the world of Batman. First, Sofia killed the entire Falcone family, thus eradicating the largest crime family in all of Gotham. Additionally, using her mother's last name, Sofia founded a new crime family called The Gigantes. If you remember, in The Batman, Carmine Falcone died right in front of Batman, creating a void in Gotham's crime world.
In my opinion, there is no way on God's good earth that Batman won't watch the consequences. On top of that, in episode 7 of The Penguin, Ozwald killed Sal Maroni, another major crime boss of Gotham. This is bound to have repercussions on Gotham's crime world and there's no way Batman won't show up to interfere with the chaos this will inevitably cause in the city.
2. Crown Point levels out
A lot has happened since the first episode of The Penguin aired. However, something happened in Episode 7 that is sure to catch Batman's attention. In episode 7 of The Penguin, we see that when Ozwald asks Sofia to bring his mother to him in exchange for drugs, instead of doing what he wants, Sofia sends a bomb to Ozwald's base of operations. Penguin. Oswald manages to escape, but the bomb completely razed Crown Point. Such massive destruction, loss of life and property demands Batman's attention, thus increasing the chances of his appearance in The Penguin's finale.
3. Penguin's confirmed connection to The Batman Part 2
When The Penguin series was announced, Matt Reeves himself confirmed the connection of this series with The Batman Part 2. The story we see in The Penguin will mirror the story that the next Batman movie will present. Additionally, it recently emerged that Sofia Falcone will play a much larger role in The Batman Part 2. With that being said and The Penguin finale coming to us next week, we can assume that Batman could appear in the episode that is supported. by everything that happened in Gotham.
As I said above, Sofia blew up an entire neighborhood, which provides the perfect setting for Batman to step in to protect the population and end this war between Sofia and Oswald. At the very least, we can expect a post-credit scene featuring the Caped Crusader. So let's wait and see what happens, and until then, stay tuned with us for further updates!
