Todd Howard was initially against casting Troy Baker as Indiana Jones in the upcoming MachineGames title.

While the game will feature the visual likeness of Harrison Ford, who played live-action Indiana Jones in all five feature films, Troy Baker will provide his voice.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Bethesda Games Studios executive producer Todd Howard and actor Troy Baker talked about the casting process for the game.

Baker claims that when he first met Howard via zoom, Howard told The Last of Us star that he didn't initially want Baker to play the role.

“We feel like with this project and the time frame that was set, we cast a pretty wide net,” Howard said.

After auditioning hundreds of people, Baker was finally selected. During the Zoom call, Howard told Baker, “I want you to know, we do blind taste tests, and people always choose you.”

The title will first release for Xbox Series X/S and PC on December 9, 2024, before coming to PS5 in spring 2025.

VGC recently had the opportunity to play three hours of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. We called it “an Indiana Jones adventure worthy of the franchise.”

“By far, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle isn't just the Indiana Jones adventure fans have been waiting for 40 years, it's the video game the franchise truly deserves,” we wrote.

“MachineGames seems like a match made in heaven for the franchise, and we left our demo very excited to play more.”
