Pokémon TCG Pocket has received its first post-launch battle event.

The Lapras ex Drop event consists of four solo matchups against increasingly difficult opposing decks.

By winning battles, players can earn First Time Battle Rewards including XP, Shop Tickets, Shinedust, and Hourglass Packs, and by repeating battles, they can earn Chance Drop rewards including Shinedust and Shop Tickets.

Most importantly, these Chance Rewards can also take the form of a Promo Package, which includes one of five new promo cards for this event:

  • Butter free (13/PA)
  • Lapras ex (14/PA)
  • Pikachu (15/PA)
  • Clefairy (16/PA)
  • Mankey (17/PA)

Players can keep repeating the same battles in an attempt to continue earning Promo Packs as Opportunity Rewards, but they have special event stamina, which renews to provide new battles every 12 hours (or can be refilled with the Event Hourglass).

The event can be found by going to the Battle tab and selecting the Solo option.

The event will run until November 18 at 02.00 ET / 06.00 GMT, meaning players have about two weeks to try to get all five promo cards.

Earlier this week it was reported that the Pokémon TCG Pocket game had enjoyed a strong launch, with estimates from mobile market research firm AppMagic showing that the game earned around $3 million per day in its debut weekend.

The game is said to have generated $12.1 million in its first four days, and currently generates more revenue than Pokémon Go, which is estimated to generate around $1 million per day.
