Guide Ubisoft's NFT RPG has reportedly been plagued by one player automatically winning every game

Ubisoft's recently released NFT-based RPG has reportedly been affected by a seemingly game-breaking exploit.

The game launched on PC last week and sees players forming groups of three characters to battle enemies in turn-based combat. The game's Web3 functionality is that each of these characters essentially functions as an NFT, and can be purchased with in-game or cryptocurrency.

The reason is because of one user, usually named Schilleri11 or Paulstar111, who seems to automatically win every online battle.

On the game's Discord server, players complained that when they started an online competitive game, they were matched against these players every time, and then automatically lost to them without the match even taking place.

One player pointed out that the Paulstar111 account is at the top of the rankings with more than 56,000 games played. It's not yet clear how players can connect to so many games and win them automatically.

“It doesn't make sense that a company in late 2024 has a game that can't be played for days because one person decided to break the game,” Discord user Ketaros wrote. “I'm sorry, the level of incompetence here is worrying.

“Last time I looked at Paulstar111 in the rankings, he had 56k Games. There are 10 people complaining here, now imagine the others [thousands of] players who tried the game, and may never come back, because the game was unplayable.”

A moderator on the game's Discord server posted Saturday that the team was aware of the error, had banned the player and hoped to have a fix ready today. However, some players continue to report that they are still being matched against the player's account.
